I got several very strange Twitter messages today all leading up to me realizing that I’m now a character in Scott Sigler’s Nocturnal.

Cats and Apartment Hunting Sometimes Don’t Mix

So, I’ve been looking for an apartment. I’d like to move out of my parents by April, but California landlords seem a LOT more jumpy about having pets in their apartments than Chicago ones were.

Granted my three different apartments in Chicago ALL required a pet deposit, but still - these rentals are so no way Jose! No cats here!

I can possibly see dogs, but cats? Really? My poor babies. We’ll never get a place at this rate.

Haven’t been here in awhile

So life is crazy, but that isn’t anything new.

This holiday I really took a break from pretty much everything. Christmas - New Years was very relaxing. I had to work a bit between Christmas and New Years, but only two days. Other than that I really rested. Realized how much I needed it.

Blogging has been busy for me, even if it’s not busy here - I’ve been busy elsewhere! Now I’m slowly starting to gear back up with podcasts, work and all. Planning for my own apartment in March. So I’m going to start looking around.

My kidney stones are bugging me a lot. I get soooo tired. There has to be an end to this soon. *sigh*

‘Transformers’ DVD storms stores today

The week’s DVD blockbuster will, to the surprise of no one, be Michael Bay’s live-action “Transformers” (***, Paramount), in single-disc form ($29.99), as a two-disc “Special Edition” ($36.99) and on HD-DVD ($39.99). Along with all the extras included on the two-disc edition, the HD disc contains Web-enabled features that, according, to the distributor, will continue to expand and evolve “for months, even years” into the future.

“Transformers” is far more entertaining than any movie based on a revived 1980s toy fad has any right to be. It’s also far more engaging than any film masterminded by special-effects and action-movie maestro Bay has any right to be.
“The Transformers” DVD provides further proof, as if we needed it, of the allure of high-definition reproduction and home theater capability. Remasters of “Lawrence of Arabia” and Kurosawa movies aside, this technology is at its most impressive in the reproduction of loud and elaborately conceived and produced spectacles.

Argh (or why Kathy Griffin inspired me to make a faith-based post)

I’m not really one to keep up with news and media. I found it either made me angry or depressed AND if it was something really important, I’d find out from a friend or loved one.

That’s simply to explain why I haven’t written about this yet.

I firmly believe in the rights of all Americans to choose their form of worship. I, personally, am a follower of the 100% man, 100% God (and I know that is 200%) Jesus. I chose for Jesus to be the boss of my life and I follow his teachings as laid out in the Bible. I believe that I will not ram them down your throat or make you change your lifestyle to act like you also made Jesus the boss of your life.

That being said, I believe I have a right to talk about my faith without fear of retribution. Much like people talk about their careers, family or non-profit work. I also believe that my faith should not be mocked by those who do not believe it, follow it or live it.  And if you do mock it, I should be able to say ‘hey that’s not right!’

So Kathy Griffin, you’ll never read this blog but your comments at the emmys wasn’t right. I’ve watched several of your standup routines. I know you make fun of all groups. That doesn’t make it right either.
